Making Christmas Tags...

Have you started your holiday shopping yet? I've got a couple of things hidden away, but not much as of yet. However, I am accumulating a nice stash of tags to use for the holidays.

When I release a new printable file, I always do a test print to make sure the color is accurate, that the images print clearly, check for alignment of the images etc. I release several new things per week so that leaves me with a lot of prints. So what does one do with all those test prints, you ask? I make tags!! LOL

The tags show here are made with the 1.75" Round Images - Holy Night. They are very easy to make. (click image for a larger view)

Simply punch the Holy Night images with a 1.75" circle punch, punch a 2" scalloped circle from coordinating card stock, ink the edges of both (optional). Then adhere the Holy Night image to the scalloped circle. I use an Elmer's school glue stick and it seems to work great. After that, you can punch a small hole in the top and add a string or ribbon. I used 6 strands of dmc floss on the ones shown here.

I plan to write my To: and From: info on the back of the tag with a gold gel pen.

Just imagine how pretty those holiday packages will look with a hand made tag.

If you're interested in seeing more holiday tags, stay tuned. I have a whole pile laying here on my desk to show you.

Thanks for visiting!

Round Tags

Today I'd like to show you how to make some really quick and easy tags. I made these while waiting on some things to print. They went together super quick!

I used some of my round 1.75 inch printables, but you could use other patterned paper for the center.

The items required to make these tags are:
1.75" circle punch
2" scalloped circle punch
glue stick
patterned paper or round 1.75 inch printables
card stock
coordinating color ink pad
1/8" hole punch
string (embroidery floss)

1. Punch your round 1.75 inch printables or patterned paper. (When using my printables, I print them on cardstock.) Be sure to ink the edges.

2. Punch your 2" scalloped circles from cardstock and ink the edges.

3. Glue the back of your round 1.75 inch printables or patterned paper and apply to the center of the 2 inch piece of scalloped circle.

4. Punch a small hole in the top of your tag and add a string or piece of embroidery floss.

That's it! It doesn't get much easier, and the results are awesome! These make great gift tags for all sorts of things. They'd also look cute without the hole punched and string to use on cards or scrapbooking pages.

Have fun making your own round tags!

Halloween Tags

I made some cute little tags the other day and wanted to share them. They were so quick to put together, so I think I'll be making some more soon. Maybe some with a Christmas theme.

The outer part is a 2" scalloped circle that I punched out of brown kraft cardstock, the middle (teal color) is a 1.5" scalloped circle punched from some patterned scrapbooking paper and the center is a 1" circle. The cat images are from my bottle cap printables.

I inked all the edges with a coffee colored ink and used a tape runner to attach all the pieces together so there was no messy glue involved either. I punched a small hole in the top and threaded some ribbon thru.

Like I said, the were super easy, super quick and super fun!!

See ya next time!
