I'm not sure if I've ever displayed these ATC's, but these are some cards I made for a swap I did a few months ago. The themes were "Bloom" - "Precious" and "Memories".

Look What I Got In The Mail...

I joined a VINTAGE ATC swap on a message board I belong to and look what I received...



This card was made by Jen Aburrow and I think she did an awesome job. I've received other cards from Jen as well, so when I found out she had my name for this swap I was really excited. I knew I'd be receiving something "awesome" and of course, I wasn't disappointed.

Free Printable ATC backs

Hello Again!

Hey - I just added some FREE printable "backs" for your ATC's to my website. I put one on a card to try it out and I'm really pleased with how "finished" it makes the card look.

I printed mine on sticker paper, but you could easily print it on regular paper and glue it on.

ATC Challenge

I participated in an ATC challenge and thought I'd show you the outcome.



This was a scavenger hunt challenge and we were limited to a few items. We could use the following items, but nothing else.
- A regular playing card
-Red paint
-A crossword puzzle
-ONE button
-Black Ink stamp pad
-one piece of ribbon
-a plain post-it note
-ONE 5-letter word
-a fortune from a fortune cookie
-plain white printer paper
-aluminum foil
-brown paper bag

Wings To Fly

One of the sweet gals on the craftster.org ATC forum posted a background and challenged us all to use it for an ATC. There were a lot of interesting outcomes and it was fun to see all the different ideas the girls had for it.

I don't normally use this much color in my items - it seems like most of my art is monocromatic so it was kinda fun to step outside of the box and try something different. I'm really pleased with the way it turned out.

100 ATC Themes

I've often found myself in the mood to create something, but was at a loss for a theme. - That problem has since been solved. :-) I found a list of 100 different themes for ATC's that someone posted on the craftster.org ATC forum.

I hope to one day be able to say that I finished all 100 of them, but I doubt that day will come for a while. So far I've only done 3 of the 100. Shown here is an ATC and the theme for it is "Dream".

June ATC Challenge

They're having a challenge for ATC's at Craftster.org this month and the theme is "Vintage". So I thought I'd give it a go.
The card shown here is the one I'm entering.

I think they have a challenge every month on the ATC forum at Craftster. (I'm pretty new there) Their challenge for May was "Royalty With An Attitude" - and guess what?? I won!! I was so thrilled, as there are so many talented artists that frequent their forum. - The king and queen cards shown on my June 18th post were my entries for May.

Soooo... the voting for this month's challenge starts in a few days. - I don't think I'll win this one as there's a lot of competition and a lot of talent. - Check them out when you get time. (I don't know if you need to be a member of Craftster.org to view these or not.) ATC CHALLENGE - There's still a few days left, maybe you'll want to enter too.

What's An ATC?

ATC's or also known as Artist Trading Cards are original miniature works of art the size of sports trading cards. They are created by artists who work in all sorts of different mediums like rubber stampers, fabric artists, painters, calligraphers, collage artists, and photographers just to name a few. You can use chalks, inks, pencils, fibers, fabric, photographs, beads and embellishments to create your own little miniature works of art. Any types of techniques are allowed, and anyone can create them.

The photo above shows a couple of examples. - These were created digitally, by me.

What's An ACEO?

I've been working on a lot of digital ACEO's/ATC's lately. - I think it's becoming an obsession. LOL Above is a piece I created and named "batter up".

When I first started into the world of Altered Art. (not that long ago) I wasn't sure what the difference between an ACEO and an ATC. Actually there isn't much difference at all. Below is the definition of an ACEO. - I'll talk about ATC's another day. ;-)

ACEO is an acronym for Art Cards Editions and Originals. ACEOs are collectible little pieces of art. An ACEO is always two and one-half inches by three and one-half inches. That is the size of a standard sports trading card. The rule about size is the ONLY rule in the ACEO world. An ACEO can be created in any medium the artist desires: paint, colored pencils, ink, etc. There are even ACEOs made from wood, clay, fabric, and metal - if you can create it the proper size, it’s an ACEO.
